Hello!

My name's Scott and I'm a New Zealander who's been living in Britain since 1992, working as a writer and artist. Most of my work has been in comics but I've also written audio plays, short stories and magazine articles. I also design storyboards, draw commissions and sell art prints. Covers

I designed and drew a series of covers for Panini's Marvel reprint line, back in the days when Marvel still allowed that sort of thing. I had a blast drawing all the characters I had grown up reading!

Comics Art

I've always loved comics. It's easily my favourite medium and I'm fascinated by the countless different approaches to storytelling that it allows. Here are some examples of my work writing and illustrating the comic strip in Doctor Who Magazine.

Comics Writing

As a writer I've been lucky enough to work with many talented comics artists over the years. One of my most enjoyable projects was collaborating with fellow Kiwi Roger Langridge on The Fin Fang Four for Marvel Comics. It was a comedic revival of Marvel's 1950s-60s "monster era". I also wrote Marvel's Uncanny X-Men: First Class, working with artists Roger Cruz, Scott Koblish, David Williams and Fernando Blanco, all of whom did stellar work on the series. Here are some examples.

Storyboards

These are some storyboards I produced for an unmade X-Men movie, Fear the Beast. It was written in 2016 by Byron Burton and John Ottman. Because the movie was intended to spotlight the Beast, I expanded the action scenes that focused on his character. The text on the right of each page is from the original screenplay.
